In total over 2,400m2 of Gustafs Panel System was specified throughout the Police Headquarters. White painted panels were used in the main atrium and corridors and Oak panels in breakout spaces and meeting rooms.

The white painted panels in the atrium and corridors were installed horizontally with exposed open joints. Plain panels installed this way have a classic, clean appearance with the benefits you expect from Gustafs panels including invisible fixing, demountability, and top performance fire rating.

Oak panels in the meeting rooms and breakout space were installed with vertical open joins giving definition between each panel in contrast with the natural texture of the timber veneer.

Gustafs Linear ribs were used on the side and back walls in the lecture hall at the Police learning centre. Standard 28mm deep x 38mm wide ribs in natural Oak veneer were installed with 12mm gaps giving acoustic class C performance to the space.  

More than 300m2 of Oranit panels were used for the atrium ceilings at South Wales Police Headquarters. Panels in 7-501A format in Oak effect stained Pine were used to create the curved edge feature ceiling which frames the skylights in the atrium as well as ceiling sections over the entryway mezzanine.

Oranit panels lend themselves to creative installations, their simple and refined construction and installation method make on-site adjustments logical and straightforward. Our recommended installers from Korbuild cut the undulating ceiling edges on site to achieve the perfectly smooth curve across the 35m length of the ceiling.

Integrating linear lighting units into Oranit panel ceilings is another favourite feature of the system. The solid wood panel construction allows for alterations using traditional joinery methods. Individual slats can be removed from panels without altering the structural integrity or impacting the tool free tip-and-tilt installation benefits.

South Wales Police was one of our final projects with PlanOffice; the feature atrium walls at SWP used their CFRF acoustic plank system in natural Oak veneer.

This panelling system uses veneered tongue and groove planks with lionear grooves to the face high density perforations of the core material for impressive acoustic control. The slatted structure gives an effective natural tone and texture variation to the impressive atrium space.
