LSA supplied Oranit Shiluvit acoustic ceiling panels to the central reception and breakout space at Citypark in central Glasgow in early 2021.
Citypark holds 300,000 sq ft of modern and dynamic office space over 3 floors inside the industrial building which was previously the Wills Tobacco Factory. The factory was originally converted for commercial leases in 2002 and more recently taken over by Wirefox in 2017 ahead of the internal refit in 2021.
Designers at Wirefox chose Shiluvit panels from Oranit in PEFC certified Nordic Pine in 8-100 module pattern. The linear acoustic panels were supplied in 600mm squares which were installed in alternating directions for a weave effect. 8-100 panel modules have 68mm deep blades at 120mm centres for dramatic open spaces and high acoustic performance when installed in combination with LSA Black acoustic mineral wool.
Oranit Panels
Shiluvit panels are a completely demountable ceiling solution; panels are suspended using a generic ceiling grid and each unit is independently removable for flexible access. Panels are constructed from solid timber which allows for straightforward joinery works to install lighting and other ceiling elements with options for wall mounted, and curved panels.
In addition to PEFC certification for sustainable timber sourcing throughout the complete supply chain, Oranit hold EPDs for both their hardwood and softwood ranges exploring and quantifying the lifecycles of the products. Oranit panels also come with enhanced fire testing classifications; using a non-toxic impregnation process panels are able to achieve Euroclass B,s1-d0 for resistance to fire with minimal spread of flames, smoke production, or flaming droplets.
