The major refurbishment at 217 Bath Road which completed in late 2021 set to overhaul the 4 storey 80,000 sq ft premises creating ‘Grade A’ office space for its tenants. The scheme included internal layout adjustments to maximise functional floorspace as well as an extension of the third floor creating a rooftop dining area.

 LSA and Gustafs were specified to supply the timber acoustic ceilings on the scheme, with the flat panel system throughout the main atrium and stairwells and linear rib system in the café and breakout area.

 More than 1000 linear metres of ribs were used throughout the new café and breakout area. Extra deep 74mm ribs were used to achieve the dramatic baffle effect of the design intent with timber battens aligning with timber rafters in the outdoor seating area. Using the exclusive Base-C mounting system the ribs were installed with 62mm gaps providing class A acoustic performance in the space.

 The impressive sawtooth ceiling in the atrium is made up of 8 raking rafts of nano perforated Gustafs panels. The entire ceiling was installed using the versatile Capax profile ceiling system exclusive to Gustafs. Utilising special angled cuts and tracking joints LSA and the installers at Henley Projects were able to achieve the invisibly fixed and fully demountable feature ceiling.

 In addition to the main ceiling area Gustafs supplied the timber ceilings in each of the lift lobbies and main stair core. These panels provide a continuation of the main atrium ceiling contrasting the warm natural wood tone with the dark metalwork throughout the space.
