There are some places in the world that are more than simply transport nodes. Instead, they actually constitute artworks in the heart of our urban landscapes. One such place is Changi Airport in Singapore, celebrated not only as the best airport in the world but also as a place where architecture and design create a symbiosis. One aspect of that has been contributed by the ceiling solutions from durlum.
In terminal 2 of this airport, an environment has been created that is at one and the same time welcoming and visually impressive. Curved aluminium louvres, powder-coated in champagne metallic, run symmetrically around the columns, creating a dynamic atmosphere. The rectangular metal panels used are perforated with ten specific patterns, each individually manufactured to meet the wishes of the customer. The outcome is a light and airy ceiling pattern that skilfully reflects the sky with its many clouds.
