Inverness College, University of Highlands and Islands. Oranit 7-501A Ceilings in Stained Yellow Pine. BDP Glasgow.

Reopened for the Winter Term of 2015 by the Princess Royal, the new Inverness College building for the University of Highlands and Islands is an impressive feat of architecture and design; leading the way for state of the art education facilities in the UK. The building covers almost 20,000sqm over three floors housing thousands of students and staff across a range of academic and vocational courses.

The central entrance atrium is an open and inviting space, filled with natural light and oxidised copper style cladding to the striking central tower. Shiluvit panels in 7-501A pattern by Oranit were chosen to clad the ceiling of this space to add acoustic control and textural warmth with a timeless atmosphere.

1200m2 of Shiluvit in Yellow Pine, stained to resemble Oak, were specified across various spaces in the campus. This finish option gives the individual slats a more diverse and natural appearance and also adheres to PEFC criteria for sustainable wood sourcing.

Dalhem Ribba in a Lecture Theatre at Inverness College.

In  one of the many teaching spaces on campus 125m2 of Dalhem Ribba were specified to clad the walls giving a superior texture to the walls when compared to standard paint. The ribs also give acoustic control to the spacing, making it perfect for lectures, meetings and presentations.

500m2 of Gustafs Panel System in Gemini Oak veneer were also chosen to clad the walls of various sports and performance art spaces across the campus, making this project our first where we have supplied Oranit, Gustafs and Dalhem products.

If this inspires you for one of your projects we would love to hear from you!
